Le Chalet French Tea RoomsWednesday, August 13, 2014
31-32 Park Row
I am definitely a girl who loves a cup of tea and finger food over a big meal and when Le Chalet invited me along to sample their menu I was happy to do so.
I love English afternoon tea and loved going to tea rooms but I had never visited a French one before.
The counter was fully stocked and really drew you in with all the bright colours and the amazing smells of the fresh bread and pastries. The cakes looked delicious.
I then took a little plate and filled it up with some lovely samples. The sandwiches were made from the fresh bread and the textures was very pleasing. My favourite finger food was definitely the quiche the pastry was very crumbly and the egg mixture very juicy the perfect combination and the flavours were balanced beautifully.
I couldn't visit a Tea Room without having tea so I purchased a Cherry Infused tea for a very reasonable price of £2.50 and wow it tasted good. I imagined it to just taste like a fruit tea bags but no you can actually taste the tea leaves with a hint of cherry it was the best flavoured tea that has passed my lips and I have sampled quite a few.
I also got 4 cups out of this so very generous servings.
They then came round with Stew and this was my favourite of the day the combination of the different ingredients matched perfectly and I so wished I was in the comfort of my own home so I could drink the juice out of the bowl as it all passed through my fork and didn't think I would look very ladylike slurping the contents from it.
I felt bad for leaving my partner at home whilst I got to tantalise my taste buds so I took him a selection of biscuits to make up for it. I did pinch one and I it too wasn't disappointing.
The staff was lovely and helpful and made a lovely thank you speech.
So I will leave you with a few pictures of the beautiful decor as its been a very picture heavy post.
