Colour Magic

I don't know about you but usually when i am getting ready to go out or shopping for a certain occasion i just choose what i like and wear it. However i have read on a few occasions that the colours we choose to wear can have an impact on our mood and the message we give out to others, so i thought i would look in to it more and make a list of which colours say what, I hope you find this as interesting as I did. Have a think about the your current mood or the next big occasion you need to plan for and try this out.

Red
Red can really pack a punch when needed.
Want to get someone’s attention? Red is your colour! The colour red empowers and draws attention toward the wearer. It’s also strongly associated with romance and passion, making it a perfect date-night colour. But be careful – it’s also been said that red stimulates the appetite and makes us hungry for junk food, so wear with caution if you’re trying to eat healthier
Wear red whenever you feel a need to portray confidence or would like to boost your self esteem.

Blue
Wearing blue helps create a place of calm and serenity.
Psychologically, blue is the opposite of red. Blue is a colour that can be both peaceful and calming as well as cold and standoffish. If you’re feeling really stressed out, the colour blue can help you feel more relaxed. If you’re sad, however, you might want to steer away – the colour blue can subconsciously make you feel more “blue.” Studies also show that blue can make you more creative so if you want to channel some genius for your art project, wearing blue might be able to help. It can’t hurt, right?
Another beneficial time to make blue your go-to hue? If you’re going for a job interview or meeting your partner’s parents for the first time. Blue is associated with trustworthiness, strength and dependability.

Green
Green is considered to be one of the most healing among all the colors.
Shades of green are calm and soothing, as well as associated with nature and the outdoors. That’s why green is one of spring’s most popular shades. Green is also refreshing and has been found to reduce stress in those who look at it. If you’re feeling really overwhelmed during exams or at work then add a little green to your outfit and you might feel more relaxed
Wear green whenever you are embarking on something new or wish to turn over a new leaf.

Yellow
Yellow is the perfect color to wear whenever your spirits needs an uplift
Sunny shades of yellow are the perfect thing to cheer you up on a bad day, so if you’re feeling down, wearing yellow could help perk you back up. Yellow is also associated with intelligence and inspiration, so wearing something yellow on the day of your big final exam might help you come up with some extra answers.
Yellow carries the same healing qualities associated with the sun. It offers warmth, optimism, and light. All shades of yellows and golds will cheer you up and help make you feel happier.

Orange
Orange urges you to get out into the world and create something grand
Like red, orange draws attention and energy, but unlike intense red, it’s a little more soothing. While orange is a difficult colour for some skin tones to pull off, but if you have the colouring to work it, orange will help put you in a positive, energetic mood.
Wearing orange is fun and can make you feel quite playful. Beware, if you need to complete a mundane project avoid wearing orange as it might interfere with the stick-to-it-ness required to stay on task.

Purple
Wearing purple shows others that you want to be noticed.
Regal and sophisticated, purple is associated with creativity and luxury. Like red, purple is a very stimulating colour which can boost your energy level when you see it. It’s also a colour that’s sometimes associated with spirituality and intuition, so if you’re having trouble making a decision, paint your nails lavender and see what comes to you.
The color purple, especially shades of violet, will definitely make a statement. If it is your desire to feel special and unique then purple is the right color choice. If you would like to send a message out into the world that you're one of a kind and that you could care less about conformity, then wear purple.

Pink
Wearing pink conveys compassion and an open heart
Of course we all know pink as the true girly-girl’s favourite colour, but it’s also associated with romance and happiness. Pink is very calming, so don’t wear it if you need tons of energy. Because of its romance association, pink is a good choice for a date. You can also wear it anytime you’re a little bummed out for a boost. Of course, if you personally hate pink, then (obviously) this won’t work for you
When people are wearing pink, whether they are male or female, they appear approachable and capable of loving others.

Black
Go for a rook chic edge
If you’re going for a promotion at work or interviewing for a new job, you might want to wear black – it signifies power, seriousness, authority, and responsibility, all qualities your boss is likely looking for. Outside the office, black is also a colour that will give you some rocker-chick edge. If you’re shy but want to feel like a badass one day, some black studded ankle boots should do the trick!
Wearing black can also help you to keep a low-profile in social settings if that is your intention. Don't wear black if you want to stand out in a crowd.

White
Wearing white will help reduce any nagging feelings of disappointment or drudge
Missing summer on a cold spring day? Wear white! It reflects light and reminds us of sunnier days. It’s also associated with peace, innocence, simplicity, and cleanliness. Wear white when you want to bring out any other colours you’re wearing – it enlivens anything you pair with it.
White represents cleansing and new beginnings. Putting on a white blouse feels like being given an opportunity to start the day with a clean slate.

So bit of a different post today i hope you enjoyed it.

Do you think you will consider your colour choices when next choosin your outfit?

Fact of the day

When you are looking for something to eat before bed time, avoid beef and bacon burgers like a plague. You don’t need this abundant injection of calories right before bed! Eating fast food before your night time rest is a guaranteed sleep killer! Moreover, the production of acid in your stomach will provoke very uncomfortable and unpleasant heartburn. Therefore, if chicken nuggets, french fries, onion rings and big macs appear in your mind when you are heading to bed, kick off these thoughts from your head straight away and drink a glass of or milk instead.

"May the odds be ever in your favor"

Fact of the day

eyeliner can make your eyes look smaller, depending on the technique of how you apply it. For example, if you have very small eyes, avoid applying eyeliner all around your eyes. Instead, draw the line only on your top lash line and make it thicker as you move away from your nose, this will create a winged effect and will visually enlarge your eyes.

Soap and Glory Flake away

I have to say, I don’t think I have come across a Soap and Glory product that I haven’t liked yet but this by far is my favorite. I really love body scrubs especially ones that smell as good as this one!.... Yummy!

The description  states that it’s amazing smell is down to ‘leafy greens, bergamot and mandarin, with floral and fruity middle notes, and a soft, sexy, musk, oakmoss, amber and woody drydown’. I have no idea what this means or what any of these ingredient are but I do know it smells good.

The product itself has a lovely thick texture with lots of little exfoliating grains , I love scooping it out of the tube with my fingers.

I find with this as I do with most exfoliating products it is lots better to use them in the shower than in the bath.

The directions say to apply a small amount of scrub onto damp skin and massage in circular motions until most of the grains are gone. Rinse well, pat dry and apply moisturiser over the top ‘
I suffer with the odd dry patch on my arms and legs and since I have been using this from the start of the summer I have noticed my skin is much smoother. I love this stuff which is why I am off to buy another pot on my way home from work as I am down to my last tiny bit. At £7.50 for 300ml, I think this is a steal.

Just be sure to make sure you rinse off well cos it does leave a little greasiness if not which has in the past cause me to break out particularlt on the top of my back and sholders, but with a good thorough rinse its not a problem at all.

Also just to mention,if you leave it a while in your cupboard it goes kinda watery, as mine has started to in the picture above. I have had this for a while now so i'm not too upset about it.

If you are looking for a good scrub for the winter I would recommend you give this a go.
Keep your eye out for the offers on in Boots stores as they often offer a buy one get one half price deal on soap and Glory products. Which is your favorite Soap and Glory product?

Fact of the day

Adding light to right places can help us achieve an illusion of fuller looking pout. Take a light shimmery eyeshadow or a white pencil and apply it right on your Cupid’s bow; then, gently blend it with your finger. This little “light trick” will, almost magically, help make your lips appear fuller and plumper. You can also add some lip gloss in the middle of your upper and lower lip; light reflective particles in the gloss will help give an illusion of fuller looking mouth.

Fact of the day

Dark shades of lipstick tend to make your lips look smaller, while lighter colors give an illusion of fuller looking pout. Therefore, try to chose lighter tones, if you want to visually enlarge you lips.

Payday Haul

So Today was the best day of the month.... PAYDAY!!!!!

I was so excited to have some spare pennies in my account for shopping and decided to go wild!!

So everything you are about to see was bought in ONE lunch hour........

I started off in New look and found myself in the Jewellery section. I love New Look jewellery and they always seem to have deals or sales on which is an added bonus.

I picked up a lovely statement necklace as I was wanting one to go over crew neck jumpers for the winter as I don't really have anything chunky enough to make a punch. I decided on a beautiful Gold Leaf effect necklace which was in the half price sale so I paid £3.99 ooooo bargain. I also picked up 2 big chunky rings and a pair of wing earrings which was also in the half price sale.

(Get yourselfs to New Look and raid their sale Jewellery)

I then went to Warehouse to look for Jumpers the only thing I actually went shopping for ..ooops. Did i get one I hear you ask....erm no I bought 2 t shirts in their sale (I cant walk away from a bargain) I got a blue one (£8) and a Nudey peach one (£5 dont know why this was £3 less) they are both the same with the turn up capped sleeves and are so soft.

I then walked past Oasis and something mysteriously pulled me inside here I did manage to buy a jumper well 2 kind of. I got a thin gold jumper which I think will look perfect for christmas time over a pair of jeans or leggings and a blue marl effect short sleeved jumper top with dark blue piping which i loved both £15 in the sale. Last but not least from Oasis I got a top which I think will be perfect for christmas day at the partners parents house it is black and beige top the back is a sheer black and the front is beige and the sleeves are black with a lace panel going down the middle and down both side of the top. This is so dressy casual and the detailing is so pretty and was also £15 in the sale.

The last shop I stopped in was The Body Shop and I picked up 2 of my favourite scents a satsumer shower gel and a Blueberry Body Butter ... both good enough to eat in my opinion.

So thats it, I think I have done enough damage to my bank account for now.

Anyone else go wild some paydays??

Fact of the day

Avoid curling your eyelashes every day, because it can make them weaker and lead to breakage. Also, don’t curl your lashes with mascara on, it can break and damage your pretty eyelashes in the twinkling of an eye.

YSL touché éclat

Now you probably know by now but i am the biggest YSL fan ever!! i just love their products, but saying that i very rarely buy or use concealers or highlighters, so when i discovered the touch eclat and heard all the fuss about it I was very curious but skeptical at the same time.

It wasn't long before i caved in and bought it  : )
Sorry i pinched this pic off the internet as mine was way too manky to photograph.
I got the original version, number 1, which seem to look the right kind of shade for my skin.
I have to say though that i think it is a good idea that there are, different, more specific shades nowadays as i hate having a limited selection especially when it comes to such important products like foundation and concealers.

I really like the click brush dispenser/applicator which I thought was really clever as it make the product easy to use and ensures you use the right amount.

The texture is really light which is good for the under eye area but it doesn't offer as much 'coverage' as a concealer.

Maybe it is because of the light coverage or because i don't really have much of an issue with dark circles or areas that this product is specifically designed for..... but i don't really get what all the fuss is about.

Personally other than the applicator I wasn't that blown away by it. I gave it a few goes to see if it was the way I was using it or how much I was using but nothing really made that much of a difference, yes it was OK it lightened the area under my eyes a little but nothing really worth raving about and nothing a concealer couldn't handle for half the price.

Sorry i know lots of people love this product but not me I'm afraid  I'm glad i gave it a go but i wouldn't buy it again.

Anyone else been underwhelmed by touch eclat?

Fact of the day

Matte textures of lipstick tend to diminish the real size of your lips, while glossy, shiny and glittery textures make your lips appear fuller. Light reflective particles in a lip gloss, for example, can instantly make your mouth look more lush.

Christmas Wish List

So as Christmas is getting closer 65 days and 6 hours and 45 mins to be precise (eek cannot wait) I thought I would share with you my wish list. These are just a few of the things I am lusting after at the moment and some of the things that I like to receive at christmas.

I have never been one to ask for lots at Christmas, Mum said I was such a weird kid at Christmas she would pass us the Argos (No Computer to go on internet then had to rely on Argos and TV adverts) and a piece of paper and write our list to Santa my Little Sister Nikita would fill the front and back of her page and have all the big expensive presents on where as I would have about 4 or 5 things normally a toy a piece of jewellery and a makeup set of some kind and then write the price at the side and made sure everything was under £20 each. Don't know why I did this either I thought if they were cheap I would get them all or if I was just a nice kid and didn't want mum to spend all her money on me.

So here are this years picks I went for as few nice high end products with little stocking fillers as I love little Nic-Naks.

So here we go
1. What is Christmas without a Christmas Jumper. I am such a festive person and was already getting excited for Christmas in September and seeing Christmas Jumpers on sale made me even happier. These 2 are cute the gingerbread man is from New look and the Kiss me one from River Island.

2. A Nars Blush. I dont own anything Nars and have heard such Great reviews about their Blushes that I feel my life wont be complete without one.

3. Estee Lauder's Raisins Duo Eyeshadow. I have seen lots of you tubers and bloggers rave about this and I just love the colours and think they will be perfect for the Christmas season.

4. MACs Plumful lipstick. I think this shade will be perfect for winter. I Love a plum lip and my MUA plum lipsticks is never out of my handbag at the moment so this will be a perfect addition to my makeup collection.

5. Make up Storage. I am desperate need for some more storage I have a lipstick holder and Nail polish shelving unit but everything else is seperated into Glossy boxes at the moment it looks ok but I would love to have some on view on the top of my dressing table.

6. Last but not least is Lush. I have said even if every present I opened was lush I would be as happy with the last one I opened as much as I was with the 1st one. I am a Lush addict and use it on a daily basis through out the day whether it being cleanser bubble bath or just Soap. You cannot beat the Candy mountain smell though in my opinion hopefully I will receive a few to last me until next Christmas.

What is top of your list this Christmas?

Fact of the day

If your hands are very dry, dehydrated and, even, have painful cracks, then try this beauty technique: apply a thick hand cream (or nourishing oil) on your hands, put on light cotton gloves and leave this treatment on overnight. When you wake up your hands will feel very soft, moisturized and smooth.
