Keep em clean!

It's so easy to ignore the importance of cleaning your brushes but let me tell you it is really important for your skin.

The bacteria living in your brushes may cause you to break out so be careful!
Taking care of your makeup brushes is key to caring for your skin, so take action and start cleaning them! Here are a few tips and tricks on how to properly clean and care for your makeup brushes!

There are many product that you can buy specially designed for cleaning brushes, I recently bought an Estee Lauder spray but to be honest I thought it was pretty pants, I mean how is spraying them helping to clean them, OK it may help a little but it isn't very efficient at getting rid of all the makeup living in-between the hairs so I find the best way is to use bubble bath or shampoo.
Shampooing your brushes at least 2-3 times a week is important! If you want a clean face, only use clean brushes!

How To:
You can use the shampoo you use on your hair for cleaning your brushes too.
Start by putting  your brushes under running cold water (one at a time) until all the makeup is removed from your brushes and the water runs clear. Just make sure that you aren't running the water too close to the base (metal part) of the brush, you don’t want the hair to fall out. Water getting into the brush can ruin the glue causing hair loss to your brush! So be careful!
Once the makeup is washed off, apply 1-2 drops directly on the hairs of the brush (depending on the size) and gently massage the hairs. Don’t pull on them, be gentle! Rinse the shampoo out of the brushes with cold water until the shampoo is completely gone.
To dry, gently squeeze your brush from base to tip (metal part) to squeeze out water. Lightly tap the brush on a towel to make sure it dries properly Place the brush on a towel to let them air dry! (Never use your blow dryer to dry them) Before using your brushes, make sure they are completely dry! Repeat these steps with each brush!

Don’t Let Your Brushes Drowned In Liquid-There are some of us that think that leaving your brushes in a liquid can clean them. However letting them sit in liquid for long periods of time can cause damage! Keep your brushes in a clean and dry space!

Give Your Brushes A Clean Home-  Do not store your makeup brushes in your makeup bag! Your makeup bags are full of access powder/makeup; your brushes will have all sorts of makeup and bacteria on them, yuck!
Keep them in a brush organizer, you can either make them yourself, or you can buy a brush holder. Keep them clean!

Carrieanne’s brushes have the perfectly pretty home, anyone else have any cute brush organiser ideas?

    2. I have had a Eco tools foundation brush and found it streaked my foundation quite a bit. If I had to recommend one brush it would be the real technique Expert face brush I have used it for foundation contour and blush when I've only been able to take one brush in my makeup bag it's brilliant.
